Dr. Donald Arthur Gooss Sr.

WILLARDS - Dr. Donald Arthur Gooss Sr. died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at home. Born in Hackensack, N.J., he was the son of the late Lawrence William Gooss Sr. and Margaret Helen Elizabeth Pye Gooss.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced veterinary medicine at Georgetown Animal Hospital and then Selbyville Animal Hospital for a total of 43 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Georgetown, the American Veterinary Medical Association, Barbershop Harmony Society and the Horntown Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Gooss of Willards; two sons, Dr. Donald Gooss Jr. and Dr. John Gooss, both of Georgetown; two daughters, Linda Belkot and Sandra Gooss, both of Georgetown; a stepson, Todd Baker of Salisbury; 12 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Gooss Jr. and George Gooss Sr.; and a sister, Susan DesAutels.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin. Arrangements are in the care of Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville.
