Salisbury Police are continuing to investigate the drowning death of a 24-year-old Salisbury man late Sunday.
Police said someone pulled Lamar Byron Sheppard out of the water near 530 Riverside Drive. Emergency medical technicians attempted life-saving efforts and took Sheppard to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said they responded after receiving a report of a man in the water.
Police said the man entered the water but wasn’t able to swim.
An autopsy showed no trauma to the body, police said, adding the cause and manner of death are pending.
They said they interviewed several people in the area. Much of the incident was recorded on video, from nearby location, police said.
The investigation is continuing. The Maryland Homicide Unit is helping local police investigate, as well as the sheriff’s office and state’s attorney’s office.
