Dorothy Widgeon-Combs

Widgeon-Combs, 89 BERLIN - Dorothy Widgeon-Combs, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Willards, a daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Parsons Davis. A Pittsville High School graduate, she drove a school bus for Worcester County for over 25 years. She was a long time member of Faith Chapel Church in Libertytown, where she played the organ and piano and served as choir director. She also served as a 4H leader in Worcester County for several years. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Jones of Salisbury and Sue Henman of Newark; sons, Walter Bryan Widgeon and Richard William Widgeon, both of Berlin; stepsons, Ronnie Combs of Lexington, S.C., and Russell Combs of Florida; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Dennis of Willards; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bryan Widgeon; her second husband, Howard Combs; a daughter, Agnes Widgeon, who died as an infant; and brothers, Charles E. Davis and Richard Davis. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Faith Chapel Church in Berlin. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
