CAMBRIDGE - Derrick Lamont Wilson, 38, passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del.
He was born June 2, 1968, in Cambridge, son of Gloria Wilson Johnson and Lewis Chester.
Sparks, as he was called, was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was a graduate of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, Class of 1986.
He was married to the former Evonda Baynard of Federalsburg.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by four stepchildren, Latonya Jenkins, Tiesha Baynard, Dontra Bolden and Kyra Baynard; a mother-in-law, Patsy Bordley; grandmothers, Mary Wilson and Mildred Chester both of Cambridge; grandfather, Lewis Adams of Cambridge; three brothers, Adriene (Tammy) Wilson of Raleigh, N.C., Lewis (Lanika) Wilson of Glen Burnie, and Tyren Wilson of Daytona Beach, Fla.; nine aunts, Eloise Woolford of Connecticut, Helen Chester of New Jersey, Joyce Chester of Cambridge, Lisa Williams of Baltimore, Sylvia Anderson of Cambridge, Kathryn Wilson of Cambridge, Lula Giles of Baltimore, Constance Johnson of Cambridge, and Linda Tilghman of Cambridge; two great-aunts, Irene Wilson of Smithville, Bernice Loretta Hooper of Hurlock, and a special aunt, Sarah Irving of Cambridge; five uncles, Alton Chester of Glen Burnie, Tyrone Chester of Trappe, Patrick Chester of Cambridge, Carroll Chester of Glen Burnie, and Wayne Wilson of Cambridgeand a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, William Northam of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Baynard.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, at Refuge Temple Church of God in Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg, at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
