Dennis Larry Feldmeier, 59, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at his residence.
He was born in Easton on April 19, 1947, and was a son of Raymond Feldmeier and the late Betty Payne Feldmeier.
Mr. Feldmeier graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965 and attended Chesapeake College. On Feb. 25, 1967, he married Betty Gray.
He had worked in radio at WICO in Salisbury and WCEM in Cambridge, later as a security guard at Delmarva Power Plant in Salisbury and then transferred to Vienna.
Mr. Feldmeier pastored two churches. One was Friendship Church in Federalsburg and the other was Immanuel Wesleyan Church in Ridgley, while in the Ministerial Studies Program. His greatest passion was to preach and teach the Gospel.
Some of his hobbies were reading, gardening, especially growing herbs, and carving walking sticks, and he enjoyed being with his family and his dogs. He was a member of Cambridge Wesleyan Church, where he taught Sunday school.
Besides his father he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Gray Feldmeier of Vienna; two sons, Brandon Feldmeier of Hurlock and Jeffrey Feldmeier of Vienna; a sister, Michelle McGlaughlin of Cambridge; two brothers, Kelly Whitten of Cambridge and Charles Feldmeier and his wife, Diane of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Jacob Feldmeier and Katelyn Feldmeier, both of Cambridge, Danielle Robins of Federalsburg and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Cambridge Wesleyan Church in Cambridge, with the Rev. Todd Crawford, the Rev. James Hitch and the Rev. Joann Humler officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Tolley, Ed Bramble, Gene Harper, Glen Payne, Tom Wright and Bruce McWilliams.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Delmar Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 539, Delmar, DE 19940, or to the Dorchester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613.
Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
