SVN | Miller Commercial Real Estate hosted a renovation groundbreaking at 601 East Main St. last week, which drew a crowd of nearly 100 people.

The former Hostess Bakery Outlet was recently sold to Silicato Development, represented by SVN | Miller Managing Director Brent Miller.

Senior Advisor Henry Hanna represented the seller in the transaction.

Dennis Silicato of Silicato Development is redeveloping the 21,000-plus square foot space into River Park Center, a professional office building.

Salisbury-based architecture firm Davis, Bowen & Friedel Inc. has agreed to lease the east side of the building, nearly 12,000 square feet of space.

They are currently located in the One Plaza East Building in Downtown Salisbury but needed to make a move so they could have their entire organization on one floor, allowing for collaboration amongst colleagues.

Davis, Bowen & Friedel designed the interior and façade of the building and local construction company Gillis Gilkerson has been hired to complete the interior buildout and renovations.

“The vision of River Park Center began when we acknowledged our organization sought a more collaborative work environment at a truly inspiring location across from the City Park,” said Davis, Bowen & Friedel Principal Mike Wigley. “With the professional guidance of SVN | Miller Commercial Real Estate, and by partnering with longtime friends of Davis, Bowen & Friedel in Silicato Development and Gillis Gilkerson, this vision is finally on its way to reality.”

The 9,189 square foot space on the west side of the building is still available for lease at a rate of $15 square feet.

The scenic location across from the City Park and within steps to Downtown Salisbury is an opportunity for a tenant needing class A office space with ample parking.
