PRESTON - David William Kenton Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at the Memorial Hospital at Easton.
He was born in Choptank on May 28, 1925, son of the late Charlie Virgil and Matilda Lubba Kenton.
He worked as a truck driver his entire life working with the late lee McMahan and also with Tri-Gas & Oil in Federalsburg.
Mr. Kenton was a former member of the Preston Lions Club and also a former member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston.
In addition to his wife, Winifred, whom he married Nov. 1, 1974, he is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Donoho and Gene Hastings of Seaford, Del.; one son, David W. Kenton Jr. and his wife, Linda of Bridgeville, Del.; two stepdaughters, Corliss Wright of Hurlock and Sharon Cordrey of Laurel, Del. He is survived by five sisters, Alice Perry of Seaford, Del., Irene Chambers of Preston, Audrey Willoughby and Betty Lare, both of Federalsburg, Wanda North of Henderson and two brothers, Charles Kenton of Preston and Franklin Kenton of Laurel, Del. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Mr. Kenton was preceded in death by his first wife, Normilea W., who passed away May 2, 1974, and by one stepson, Thomas Johnson who passed away February 2004.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Williamson Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 39, Preston, MD 21655.
