OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - Master Sgt. Daniel W. Tyler, 74, formerly of Hoopers Island and longtime resident of Ocean Springs, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006.
Mr. Tyler retired from the U. S. Air Force and had also retired from a long, productive career as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty L. Tyler; two sons, Timothy W. Tyler and James M. Tyler, both of Ocean Springs; one sister, Barbara Mowbray and her husband, Buddy of Cambridge; two brothers, David Tyler and wife, Coralee of Fishing Creek and Bobby Rhea and wife, Mary Jane of Laurel, Del.; two grandsons, Luke Tyler and wife, Marian and Jacob Tyler, both of Shelton, Wash.; four granddaughters, Sarah Jacob and husband, Trevor of Olympia, Wash., Kelly Tyler and Kristi Tyler, both of Irvington, Ala., and Kara Barbour and husband, Chris of Mobile, Ala.; two great-grandsons, nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Nov. 16, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford–O"Keefe Funeral Homes. A funeral service was held on Nov. 17 in the chapel. Burial followed at Crestlawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
