Daniel Keith McCready

ONLEY, Va. - Mr. Daniel Keith McCready, 33, of Onley, formerly of Tangier, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at his residence. Born Feb. 17, 1978, in Salisbury, Md., he was the son of Danny Ray McCready and Marsha Dise McCready of Tangier. Daniel was a dredge tender for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, member of the New Testament Church on Tangier, and a former active member of the Tangier Volunteer Fire Department. Other than his parents, survivors include his sister, Virginia Ann Williams and husband John of Onancock; three nephews, Jonathan Daniel, Joshua Bryan and Jonah Anthony Williams; honorary grandparents, Uncle Bill and Fern "Sissy" Parks; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend, Michelle Harvey. Funeral services were conducted at the Onancock Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Sean McKenzie and Mr. Duane Crockett officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock. There was a visitation at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Tangier Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 239, Tangier, VA 23440.
