HURLOCK - Daisy Mae Nichols passed suddenly and quietly on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at PRMC in Salisbury, Md. Born June 23, 1933 in Hurlock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Elizabeth Nichols Pinder and the late William Leon Sampson. She graduated with the class of 1951 from FD Sinclair School; Cambridge, Md. Her ambitions led her, in her prime age of 50 plus, to enroll in a cosmetology class at Centerville High School, later receiving her State License in cosmetology. Her places of employment included Rob Roy's Sewing Factory, Acme Cannery, The Harriet Tubman Coalition in Cambridge, Md. and Wal-Mart as a greeter, to name a few. Ms. Daisy could be found spending many hours attending to and nurturing her beautiful flower garden. We believed that is where she spent most of her time de-stressing and having her "Just a Little Talk" with Jesus time! Her sewing abilities were phenomenal. Sister Daisy was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bethlehem, Md. under the pastorate of Bishop Chester P. Friend. She served as a member of the Senior Choir and the Usher Board. She was a strong and courageous woman; a woman of prayer and faith. Her desire was to make other people happy. She was willing to share her talents with others freely, serving unselfishly. Sister Daisy Mae Nichols leaves to cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy, six children, Dorinda Dockins ( Henry), son, Darcy Nichols, Druscilla Stevenson, Deliah Johnson (Cornell), Desiree Jones, and Deanna Boston (Tommy); her grandsons whom she reared, David (Nicky) and Deonta Green ( Shenay); one sister, Margaret Collins (William) of Rhodesdale, Md.; one brother, Leman Pinder, Linkwood, Md.; and a special god-daughter, Sylvia Collins of Hurlock, Md.; she also leaves two aunts, one aunt in-law; 17 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters and brothers in Christ and friends. Services will be held at noon on Sat., Aug. 17, 2013 at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5170 Bethlehem Road, Preston, Md., with a viewing on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and two hours prior to service. Interment in the church cemetery.
