ANNAPOLIS - Cynthia "Sissie" Keene Carter, 58, of Annapolis, passed away peacefully in her home on Sept. 23, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family. Cynthia was born May 2, 1953, to the late William Keene and Evelyn Bryant. Cynthia graduated from Cambridge Senior High School in 1971 and then worked for Rob Roy until the late 70's. After relocating to Annapolis, Md., she met her devoted husband of 28 years, McKinley Carter and worked at the United States Naval Academy for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Mckinley Carter; stepmother, Dorothy Keene of Cambridge; daughter, Tiffany Keene; son, Mario Sampson Jr.; three grandchildren, Pierre, Paris and Mario; one brother, Nathaniel Keene (Janie) of Cambridge; three sisters, Valerie Beasley, Patricia Beasley and Diamond Keene; and a host of other special family members and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Refuge Temple COG, Cambridge. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in St Paul Malone Cemetery, Madison.
