Clyde Roger Evans

TANGIER ISLAND, Va. - Clyde Roger Evans died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at his home. Born on Smith Island Feb. 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Clyde Evans and Clara L. Shehee Tyler. He had been making his home on Tangier for the past 52 years. He was a retired tugboat employee and was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mickey Evans; and a sister, Genevieve Marsh. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Evans; two sons, Roger Curtis Evans and Freddie Allen Evans; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Elisha, and Curtis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Swain Memorial U. M. Church on Tangier. The Rev. John Flood officiated. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
