Charles L. Brown, 83
SALISBURY - Charles L. Brown, 83, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his home. Charlie was born in Spruce Creek, Pa., on Aug. 14, 1925. He was the son of the late Charles E. Brown and Effie Mae Bonsall. Charlie served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers during World War II from 1943-1945. After serving his country he graduated from Juniata College in Huntington, Pa., in 1950. Charlie worked as a salesman for Kawneer Company and then Booth Glass in Seaford before starting Charles Brown Glass Company on April 1, 1959. He was a founding father of the Associated Builders and Contractors Eastern Shore Chapter, a life member of the Elks Lodge, and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann F. Brown; his two children, Charles Jr. and Catherine Brown; daughter-in-law, Voncelia Brown; four grandchildren, Jennifer Perunko and her husband Tim Perunko, David Brown and his wife Nikki Brown, Matthew Brown, and Nathaniel Brown. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Rogan Hart Perunko. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence and Kenneth; and his son-in-law, Homer H. Brown Jr. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Holloway Funeral. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home.
