Charles Kramer Frey

CHILLOCOTHE, Ohio - Charles Kramer Frey, 78, of Chillicothe, died 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, in Traditions of Chillicothe following a short illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Chillicothe, to the late Carl J. and Petrea Kramer Frey. On May 21, 1955, he married the former Patria D. "Pat" Armstrong, who survives, of Chillicothe. Also surviving are daughters, Jocelyn F. Graham, of Annapolis, Md., and Petrina F. (Robert) Swan, of Ashland, Ohio; grandchildren, Adam K. Graham, of Annapolis, Md., Sara J. (Cody) Griggs, of Yuma, Ariz., Charles W. and P. Catherine Swan, both of Ashland, Ohio; sisters, Anna Stout, of Chillicothe and Sue Brown, of Columbus; brothers, Jim (Val) Frey, of McMinnville, Oregon, Fritz (Nancy) Frey, of Toledo and Mike (Peggy) Frey, of Dayton; a beloved brother-in-law, Jim Armstrong, of Grand Isle, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joe Frey and his wife, Delores and an infant brother, Tommy Frey. Charles graduated from O.U. with a B.A. Degree. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska. He worked for Mead Containers for 26 years as an accountant, Sales Manager, General Manager, and Regional Vice President, in Chillicothe, Miami, Fla., Memphis, Tenn., and Covington, Ga. He also lived in Beirut, Lebanon and opened the first corrugated box plant in the Middle East. In 1984, he went to work for Georgia-Pacific in Albany, Ga., as a General Manager. He started Interstate Corrpack, in Cambridge, Md., in 1996 to serve the poultry industry on the Eastern Shore. He owned a French-Mediterranean restaurant in Oxford, Md. He retired and moved back to Chillicothe after being away from the area for over 50 years. Charles was a charter member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and cherished his life-long brothers. He enjoyed working in his yard, reading, home remodeling and traveling in the RV. He was a patient, kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, in Saint Mary's Church with Fr. Lawrence Hummer celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with a wake service at 7 p.m. You may sign his online register at www.warefh.com
