CAMBRIDGE - Charles B. Blades, 69, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital.

He was born in Bethlehem on Dec. 27, 1937, and was a son of the late George Nelson Blades and Mary Bradley Pritchard.

Mr. Blades graduated from Easton High School in 1955. On Oct. 27, 1956, he married Beulah Jane Hughes. He worked at the Eastern Shore State Hospital and later with G.W. Hall-n-Son Seafood in Hoopers Island.

Mr. Blades enjoyed photography, woodworking and playing his guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Jane Blades of Cambridge; a daughter, Juliet Dawson of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Tyler Todd, G.J. Dawson, Tristan Blades and Shelby Blades; a daughter-in-law, Tina Blades of Cambridge; two brothers, John and Mark Blades, both of Seaford; two sisters, Marian Eaton of Preston and Jean Chance of Denton.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Andrew Blades who passed away on Feb. 27, 2003.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge, with the Rev. Douglas J. Wooten officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society of Maryland, 11350 McCormick Road, Executive Plaza III, Suite 100, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
