The University of Maryland Eastern Shore and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering to salute the nation’s veterans Nov. 9 with a banquet in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
The Friday night event will be produced by the university’s hospitality and tourism management students, who have planned a gourmet menu and will prepare the meal as part of the program. It will be held at the university’s Henson Center from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and feature keynote remarks from three generals who live on the Lower Shore along with a patriot’s tribute.
Proceeds from the sale of tickets, which are priced at $50, will support the Silver Star Scholarship Fund to help veterans offset the cost of being a UMES student.
To reserve your ticket, contact the UMES Foundation in J.T. Williams Hall by calling 410-651-8045.
