SALISBURY - Cathy Lynn Steimer died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Mary Louise Donaway Steimer and the late William Gerald Steimer Jr She fought a courageous, lifelong battle with cancer, beginning when she was just 13 years old.
She graduated from Arundel High School and Anne Arundel Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and a passionate and active member in Relay For Life.
She is survived by two children, Tabitha Lynn Roessler and William Richard Root of Estancia, N.M.; two grandchildren; her sister, Kimberly Sue Steimer-Mason of Smithfield, N.C.; and a niece.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
