Catherine 'Marie' Wheatley, 62 MARION STATION -- On Thursday, June 26, 2008, Catherine "Marie" Wheatley, formerly of Baltimore, passed away. She was the wife of John Wheatley Sr. and mother to Garland Lockhart and her husband, Steve of Westminster, Torie Webb and her husband, Danny of Westover, Michael Wheatley and his wife, Billie of Marion Station; stepmother to John Wheatley Jr. of Marion Station and Mary Wheatley of Baltimore; grandmother to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Aaron Wheatley (whom she raised as her own) D. J. Webb of Marion, Courtney Lockhart of Orlando, Fla., Cole, Jared and Adam Lockhart of Westminster, Justin Dorrier and Mackenzie "Precious" Wheatley of Marion, Michelle Wheatley of Spotsylvania, Va. and Cayden "Noodle" Thomas of Mt. Vernon. She also leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Gwen Bartlett of Dundalk. She was preceded in death by her brother, Butch Bartlett, and sisters, Edna Conley and Patricia Owens. Marie was the daughter of the late Garland and Catherine Marshall. Following cremation a memorial service was held on June 29, 2008 at the Marion Baptist Church, Marion Station. Pastor Joe Barnes officiated. Marie adored all the flowers she received in her lifetime and asked that none be sent after her passing. The family requests that donations be made in her honor to Coastal Hospice, P. O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733 or the Marion Baptist Church youth or building fund, 5833 Crisfield Highway, Marion Station, MD 21838.
