SALISBURY - Carroll James Long, 82, of Salisbury, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Wilmer Smith and Lydia Long Beasley. Carroll retired from Giant Food where he worked as a meat cutter for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Marybelle of 63 years; four daughters, Teresa Fernandez, Elaine Long, Debbie Harris and Faye Wilson; grandchildren, Whitney, Tommy, and Jenna Wilson, Lydia Sykes and her husband Everett, Holly Foreman, Bradley Gillis and his wife Kim, and Amanda Harris; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Gary Edward Long and Victor Lee Long; a twin brother, Walter Nelson Long; and sister, Diane Long Hicks. A funeral service was at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment will followed in Springhill Memory Gardens.
