Carol Marshall Allen

SALISBURY - Carol (Sis) Marshall Allen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Salisbury Genesis Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Salisbury. Carol was born on April 15, 1935 in Cambridge, to the late James and Elsie Robbins Marshall. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Cannon, Robert Marshall, and James Marshall. Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard F. Allen; her son, Richard F. Allen, II and his wife, Karen; two step-granddaughters, Katie M. Rouse, and Betsy A. Long; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Carol graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1953 where she was involved in nearly every activity offered. For many years she compiled farm and crop census reports for the Maryland/Delaware Agriculture Statistics Services and she also was an antique dealer and appraiser. Flowers and gardening were her passion and won many ribbons and was a judge in many flower shows. She was member of the Town and Country Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Carol was very outgoing and made friends easily and loved spending time with family and friends. She loved animals. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD, 21804, or the American Diabetes Association, 2002 Clipper Park Road, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD, 21211. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD, 21804.
