Capt. Carmine C. Coiro

WESTOVER - Capt. Carmine C. Coiro, 72, of Westover for the past 30 years, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at his home. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of the late Carmine Charles and Helen B. Good Coiro. He was a retired waterman, charter boat captain, and boat builder. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the MD and Somerset County Charter Boat Associations. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Anne Coiro of Westover; three sons, John Coiro of Orlando, Donald Coiro of Hernando, and Charles Coiro of Shelltown; a sister, Margaret Pearson of Pearl River, N.Y.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Janie and Nicky. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Tommy Maddox will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.
