?Brownie J. Wielgosz died on Saturday, Jul. 29, 2017.
Born in Secretary on Jan. 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Brownis and Mary Wielgosz. Brownie had three sons, Michael (wife Marion Wielgosz), Patrick (wife Tammy Wielgosz), Dennis Wielgosz; and one daughter, Ann Bryden (husband Eddie Bryden). Brownie is survived by multiple grandchildren. Granddaughters, Michelle Wielgosz (husband Sean Devlin), April Rogers (husband John Rogers), Amy Werner (husband Matt Werner), Nicole Justice, Patrick Wielgosz, and David Wielgosz (wife Marie Wielgosz). Brownie is also survived by multiple great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Werner (Amy), Caleb and Peyton Justice (Nicole) and Riley Devlin (Michelle). Preceded in death by sister, Martha Ackerman; and nephew, Raymond Savage. ?
During World War II, Brownie served four years in the Navy aboard a LST ship in the Pacific Theater. Upon returning to Maryland, he married Jean Ann Gott and raised his family. He worked for 30 years at a local Airpax plant as a maintenance supervisor. During Brownie's career he was also a part of many community organizations. Brownie was a member of Our Lady Good Counsel in Secretary, Life member of the Secretary Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Elks Lodge #1272, member of the American Legion #243, member of Ruitan Club, and treasure for Tri City Little League. Brownie retired in 1988 from Airpax. After retiring, Brownie moved to Florida where he met Helen O'Brien from Boston. For 22 years they danced, traveled, and visited many places in the world with the winters spent in Florida. They moved to Quincy Point where they lived until Helen's death four years ago. Brownie then went to Eventide home where he enjoyed his last years. ?
Family and friends had a private Catholic mass on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Quincy Massachusetts. Brownie was laid to rest with full military honors in Braintree, Mass.
