CAMBRIDGE - Brice G. Kinnamon Jr., 72, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

He was born in Cambridge on Dec. 19, 1934 and was a son of the late Brice G. and Carolyn Layton Kinnamon.

Mr. Kinnamon graduated from Cambridge High School in 1952. In 1954 he entered the United States Air Force and served four years of active duty as a tactical instructional at Sampson Air Force Base in New York. He then was transferred to Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Col. where he attained the rank of Sgt. He returned to Cambridge after being honorable discharged in 1958.

Upon returning he entered the electrical trade. Mr. Kinnamon was recalled in the Air Force to active duty in 1961 and served in France until his final discharge in 1962.

On Dec. 29, 1955 he married Mary E. "Meg" Gordy. He taught vocational school in Dorchester County until he retired in 1997.

He loved animals and owned horses all of his life.

Mr. Kinnamon was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 91, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, Cambridge Moose Lodge, retired member of Rescue Fire Company, American Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Laurel Saddle Friends and Cambridge Skeet Club.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary "Meg" Kinnamon of Cambridge; two sons, Brice G. Kinnamon III and his wife, Joy of Easton and Robert S. Kinnamon Sr. and his wife, Debbie of Easton; three grandsons, Robert S. Kinnamon Jr., Brice G. Kinnamon IV and Keith L. Kinnamon; a great-granddaughter Hailey Mae Kinnamon; a brother, Robert D. Kinnamon and wife, Geraldine of Cambridge and a sister, Christine Kinnamon Carter and husband, Russell of Cape May, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis E. Kinnamon and Constance "Connie" Bramble and a great-granddaughter, Madison Michelle Kinnamon.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Fred Bahr officiating. Burial will follow at East New Market Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Kinnamon Jr., Brice G. Kinnamon IV, Keith L. Kinnamon, Herbert R. Tall, Wilson E. Todd and Lester Whaples. Honorary pallbearers will be John Warfield, Rodney Hurley, Virgil Ruark, Kenneth Ruark and members of the American Legion Post 91.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, c/o Richard Hargis, 205 Maryland Ave. Cambridge, MD 21613.
