MILLSBORO, Del. - Beverly Anne Saunders, 56, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, Aug 12, 2007 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.
She was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Cambridge, daughter of Goldie Hemphill and the late Chauncey Saunders and was raised by the late Nathaniel and Gertrude Stewart.
Beverly was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was a 1968 graduated of Cambridge High School.
Beverly was currently employed at M & T Bank in Millsboro, Del. until her health started to fail. Ms. Saunders was a member of Bay Shore Community Church in Millsboro.
Her special hobbies were going to church, reading the Bible, playing the piano at Tunnel Cancer Center, doing hair where she graduated from Delmarva Beauty School in Salisbury.
In addition to her father and parents who reared her, Ms. Saunders was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Clash and a sister, Belinda Hackett.
Ms. Saunders leaves to mourn her daughters, Shannon Saunders (Baltimore) and Marsha Opher (Hurlock); a grandson, Josiah Opher; ex-husband, Carl Opher Jr.; three sisters, Vernetta Hackett, Althea Saunders, Gia Saunders; a brother, Chauncey Saunders; three aunts, Dorine Johnson, Roslyn Carnage, Tavolia Carter; an uncle, Henry Carnage and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Henry Funeral Home, PA., 510 Washington St., Cambridge with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow in Waugh Chapel Cemetery.
