SALISBURY - Betty Ruth Rushing "Momo" Davis, 78, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. A daughter of the late James Fletcher and Mary Covington Rushing, she was born in Albermarle, N.C. She received her formal education at Kingsville High School and her Christian training at Tabernacle of Prayer in Salisbury, where she was a faithful member for over 30 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, Pastor's Aide, Prophetess, Elder and Mother of the church. She is survived by a son, Albert Jones; three daughters, Cathey Johnson, Kimberly Bailey and LaShawn Oge, all of Salisbury; three adopted daughters, Curina Willoughby of Winterville, N.C., Evette Matthews of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lisa Johnson of Salisbury; two sisters, Geneieve Mayers, Emma Smith; a brother, Bobby Rushing, all of Albemarle, N.C.; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Friday, July 29, 2016, at Mills Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
