Betty Lyons Dayton

Betty Lyons Dayton, 84

CAMBRIDGE - Betty Lyons Dayton, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in Dorchester General Hospital. She was 84. Born July 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred Lyons and Irene Lauck. Mrs. Dayton lived her entire life on the Eastern Shore. She graduated from East New Market High School. After high school she worked at the Rob Roy plant on Race Street in Cambridge. In 1956 she married Raymond Dayton. They owned & operated Dayton's Restaurant on Race Street in Cambridge, and later moved to Ocean City, where they owned & operated Dayton's Chicken House Restaurant on the Boardwalk. She retired in the mid 1970's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dayton. She is survived by two sons, Fred Dayton, Peck Dean and his wife Kathie, of Cambridge; a brother Col. Robert Lyons of East New Market; a grandson, Fred Dayton Jr. of Baltimore; two granddaughters, April Whitacre of Royal Oak, and Laurie Cannon of Cambridge.
