DELMAR - Betty Ellen Pedersen died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Delmar, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian Nichols. When her children were in school, she was an active member of the Delmar Booster Club and a regular in the Friday night football concession stand. She spent many years working at the concession stand at the Delmar little league fields. She worked as a rural mail carrier in Delmar for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She also worked as a grocery clerk at Caldwell's Market. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Pedersen; a daughter, Susan Upole; a son, Richard Pedersen Jr.; three granddaughters; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Claude, George, Howard, and Jack Nichols. A funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment was in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
