Bennie R. Keene

EASTON - Bennie R. Keene, 85, formerly of Nyack, N.Y. passed away on Monday, June 4, 2007, with his family at his side at Memorial Hospital at Easton after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 8, 1921, son of the late Benjamin R. and Amelia Myster Keene. He was the husband of Eunice Camper Keene.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Esella Allen of Spring Valley, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Louise Hemsley of Easton and Celeste Dumas of South Nyack, N.Y.; one brother-in-law, Daniel Camper of Trappe; and a number of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary R. Burris.

A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Scott"s UM Church in Trappe. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery at Beulah.

The Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Easton is handling the arrangements.
