Before you commit to a sport Just Try It

Posted

Wicomico County Recreation & Parks is back with another Just Try It event on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

“Sometimes, parents sign their child up for a sport and the child ends up not enjoying it,” said Youth Sports Program Director Andrew Bugas. “Just Try It allows kids to give different sports a try and see what they enjoy before they join a team.”

Enjoy a fun and casual environment where kids can be active and try sports without any pressure.

What sports will Just Try It have?: Baseball, softball, lacrosse, and golf will be the spring sports featured.

Who will be teaching?: Local youth programs and coaches will instruct short clinics featuring their respected sport. Kids may try any sport they prefer. Clinics are set as a casual come-and-try basis.

Where/when will this be?: This event will be held from 5-7 P.M. in the arena at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Md.

How much?: This event is FREE. Kids will be able to find the love of a new sport at absolutely no cost.

While at Just Try It, enjoy music and giveaways, and learn about need-based scholarship opportunities. Each child can also get a free ice cream cone. Preregistration is recommended and can be found online at www.WicomicoRecandParks.org.
