Barbara Ann Hooper

HEBRON - Barbara Ann Hooper died May 23, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Newark, Del., she was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer Dean Sr. and Edna Tull Green Dean. A longtime member of Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury, she supported her late husband in promoting Southern Gospel Music. She is survived by three sons, Walter S. Hooper, Jr., of Salisbury; David L. Hooper, of Hebron, and Kenneth L. Hooper, of Whaleyville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Dean, Jr., of Seaford, Del., Rosalie Hignutt, of Georgetown, Del., Irene Venable, of Greenwood, Del., Roland Dean, of Bridgeville, Del., Raymond Dean, of Famington, Del.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Scott Hooper, Sr.; daughter, Ruby Hooper Morris; and siblings, Ralph Dean, Billy Dean, Laura Lynch, George Dean, Ronald Dean, Alice Bennett, Joan Venable and Denny Dean. A funeral service was held Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury. Interment followed at Mardela Memorial Cemetery in Mardela Springs. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
