US--TRUMP-US OPEN

Trump attending the US Open as Rolex’s guest despite Swiss tariffs. Any boos may not be seen on TV

SUMMARY: President Donald Trump is attending Sunday’s U.S. Open men's final as a guest of Rolex despite imposing steep tariffs on the Swiss watchmaker’s home country. Event organizers are seeking to keep off-court disruptions on Sunday — like audience members booing the president — from being seen on the TV broadcast. Trump will be watching from Rolex’s suite. He’s built the bulk of his second term’s domestic travel around attending major sports events rather than hitting the road to make major policy announcements or address large rallies. Trump hasn’t attended the U.S. Open since being booed there in 2015, and he’s the first sitting president to attend since Bill Clinton in 2000.

TEN--US OPEN-SABALENKA

Aryna Sabalenka wins the US Open again after vowing to no longer lose control of her emotions

SUMMARY: Before Aryna Sabalenka could win the U.S. Open again, she needed to understand why she lost two Grand Slam finals this year. She couldn’t put away Madison Keys at the Australian Open in January, then couldn’t finish off Coco Gauff at the French Open in June. Sabalenka realized it was because she was allowing bad thoughts to undo her good tennis. She vowed while vacationing in Greece after Wimbledon that would no longer happen. Sabalenka beat Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6 (3) on Saturday to become the first repeat champion at the U.S. Open since Serena Williams won three in a row from 2012-14.
