Timberwolves watch their playoff position tumble after blowing huge lead in 4th quarter

SUMMARY: Regular-season defeats don’t get much more brutal than the one the Minnesota Timberwolves suffered Tuesday. The wide-open nature of the Western Conference playoff race doesn’t give them much time to stew over what went wrong. The Timberwolves started the game in a four-way tie for fifth place in the West. They’re now alone in eighth place.

SUMMARY: Scottie Scheffler is back at Augusta National to defend his Masters title this week. Some of it has to do with the late start he got on the year after cutting his hand while making ravioli in December. But Scheffler believes his game is in a good place, as evidenced by his second-place finish at the Houston Open. Most players point to him as the favorite when they tee it up Thursday, and the oddsmakers certainly back them up. As for Scheffler, his approach is simple: “Last year means nothing.”
