CAMBRIDGE - Anthony J. Baummer, 84, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at Dorchester General Hospital.

He was born in Baltimore on Jan. 29, 1923, and was a son of the late Anthony J. and Katherine Grauer Baummer.

Mr. Baummer graduated from Poly Tech Institute. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a waste gunner on a B-17.

Mr. Baummer was married to Pearl Vaughan. He had worked for Black and Decker for 36 years.

Mr. Baummer was a bodybuilder and in 1947 was name Mr. Maryland. Some of his hobbies were archery, gentleman farming, and he loved the outdoors and birds.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl Baummer of Cambridge; a daughter, Linda Koehler of Glen Rock, Pa.; a son, John Baummer of Hanover, Pa.; a son, Anthony S. Baummer of Spring Grove, Pa.; a daughter, Joyce Ritz of Spring Grove; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Stovall of Baltimore; a brother, Paul Baummer of Florida; a sister, Cassie Keifer of Florida; a brother, Leo Baummer of York-New Salem, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Baummer was preceded in death by a brother, William Baummer.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
