EAST NEW MARKET - Anne Marie Hummer Ball, of East New Market, formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Lisa Ball. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy William Hummer and Edith Belle Pyne Hummer. She retired in 1993 as a school teacher at Fruitland Intermediate in Wicomico County after 35 years. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and Riverside United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Wilson Ball; a daughter, Lisa M. Ball; three grandchildren; a great grandson; two sisters, Ruth Swindell of Newport News and Joyce Hastings of Landenberg, Pa.; a brother, William Hummer of Middletown, Del.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph David Ball. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
