Anna Ruth Foxwell, 85

WESTMINSTER - Anna Ruth Foxwell, 85, of Westminster, formerly of Reids Grove, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson. Born on Oct. 4, 1923, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late William Frank Hughes and Anna E. Kragenbrink Hughes. For many years she owned and operated the grocery store in Reids Grove. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Bornt of Westminster; a son, Doug Foxwell of Cambridge and his wife Joan; seven grandchildren, Valerie Brown, Jeff Powell, Donna Bradshaw, Jenny Cannon, Julie Mohr, Laurie Bornt, and Lisa Bornt; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Stewart of Reids Grove; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Powell; a granddaughter, Tracie Lynn Bornt; a sister, Rebecca Brinsfield; and a son-in-law, Larry Bornt. The family received friends Monday, Sept. 21, at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Bongard and Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiated. Interment followed in East New Market Cemetery. Roger Bornt, Tommy Bradshaw, Jeff Powell, Winfield Jackson, Jeff Brown, and Henry Dockins served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Foxwell, Charles Powell, Larry Mohr, and Ralph Foxwell. Donations in memory of Mrs. Foxwell may be made to Reids Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Wilson, 5314 Rhodesdale-Vienna Road, Rhodesdale, MD 21659.
