To our neighbors and others: We want you to enjoy your holiday celebration with friends and family. But please be considerate of the time you set off fireworks.
We have a prescription from our veterinarian to be administered to our dog two hours prior to the onset of fireworks or thunderstorms. We give her the medication by 7 p.m. on the Fourth of July or other dates when we know there will be firework displays.
I’m sure you have other neighbors who need to medicate their pets to help calm them from loud noises. Can you save your noisemakers until closer to the 9 p.m. hour? You set them off repeatedly, starting at 7.
We had to drive our dog out of the neighborhood for over an hour to give the medication time to work before we could return home. Thanks for your consideration.
