DOVER — The Delaware State News is introducing a new event this spring. The W3 What Women Want Fest will be held Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Delaware Tech Conference Center in Dover. This fun and casual, “women only” event will include vendors, food, door prizes, giveaways and pop-up experiences in a festive, relaxed atmosphere.
The Dover YMCA is serving as one of the event sponsors. They will have a work-out room set up for attendees to try out some of the equipment that you can regularly use as a member of the YMCA. Plus, they will offer a yoga demonstration during the event.
Another sponsor is Merrill Lynch & Co. They will have an interactive station at their booth with an iPad for people to review the Seven Life Priorities — Family, Giving, Work, Home, Leisure, Health and Finances. Each person will prioritize these seven different things that all connect with individual finances — whether they are easily achievable goals or aspirational dreams. Once you have prioritized these things, you can talk to a Merrill Lynch wealth management adviser about the impact these may have on your life.
The third event sponsor is the Dover Federal Credit Union. They are still putting plans in place for their participation at the event, so watch the event Facebook page for updates on this. www.facebook.com/w3fest.
In addition to the opportunities that these sponsors are offering at the W3 Fest, the Charitable Dames of Delaware will be hosting a Purse Exchange. To participate bring a gently used or new purse (of at least $20 value) and an entry donation of $15 before April 1or $20 after April 1 and pick a new purse for your closet. Select purses will have prizes and gift certificates hidden inside. Entry donations can be purchased ahead of time through the Charitable Dames Eventbrite page. For additional info on the Charitable Dames visit their website at www.charitabledames.org.
And, the fun is just beginning! There will be lots of other vendors to visit for teeth whitening, fitness, fashions, jewelry, home decorating, cosmetics, house cleaning, real estate, continuing education and others. Fifer Orchards will even be there selling strawberries and donuts. Be sure to bring your wallet so you are ready to shop.
An impressive buffet will be available mid-day so attendees can snack while they shop, watch the demonstrations and visit with the vendors. Plus, there will be some great door prizes that all attendees will be eligible to win.
Vendors are still signing up so there will be even more things to do at the event than listed here. If you are interested in being a vendor, contact the Delaware State News W3 Fest team at w3fest@newszap.com or 741-8200.
Tickets for the event are on sale now on Eventbrite, search for W3 What Women Want Fest. They are $7 in advance or $10 the day of the event. You can get more information and updates on the website www.w3fest.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/w3fest.
