MILFORD — Two men are facing multiple charges, including multiple counts of endangering a child for one, after an early Saturday morning shooting, police said.

According to police, at about 2:07 a.m. Saturday the Milford Police responded to a residence located in the 100 block of West Street after receiving a report of multiple gunshots. Delaware State Police also responded.

Police determined that a verbal altercation between two male suspects allegedly escalated to shots being fired.

Milford Police detectives discovered that Eric A. Harris, 41, of Lincoln, went to the residence and contacted Joseynazio “Jose” Colombo, 28, of Milford, after an argument the two had over the phone.

As Mr. Harris arrived at the residence and exited his vehicle, Mr. Colombo emerged, allegedly armed with a crowbar and, according to police, attempted to hit Harris several times with the crowbar. Mr. Colombo then went to Mr. Harris’ vehicle and allegedly smashed out all of the vehicle’s windows with the crowbar.

Police said Mr. Colombo went back into the house, and Mr. Harris allegedly took a shotgun out of his vehicle and went up to the house.

According to police, Mr. Harris allegedly fired shots from the shotgun into the windows of the residence. The shotgun rounds struck various items inside the residence, police said. Mr. Harris also obtained a metal pipe and threw it through a window.

Police said 11 people, including five children, were inside the house when the shots were fired. Police said the children were aged 2 years, 1 year, 5 years, 17 years and eight months old.

No one was injured inside the house.

After firing the shots into the house, Mr. Harris allegedly attempted to hide the shotgun in a nearby yard before police arrived. The shotgun was later located by the Milford Police K-9.

Mr. Colombo was charged with aggravated menacing and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institutional in Georgetown in default of $3,000 secured bond.

Mr. Harris was charged with 11 counts of first degree of reckless endangering, five counts endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited and criminal mischief. He also was wanted on active capiases out of several courts. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institutional in default of $57,000 secured bond.
