DOVER — The Dover Police Department announced Thursday it has arrested two suspects believed to be involved in a July 4 shooting.

Police said the incident occurred at approximately 6:24 p.m. when a 22-year-old man returned to his apartment in the 100 block of Katrina Way and found three individuals inside. The suspects fled when he confronted them and were pursued by the victim.
According to police, one of the suspects, Jason Brittingham, fired a shot that struck the victim in the left side before hitting a wall.
The victim knew two of the three individuals and was able to identify them to police.

Christopher Evans, 17, was arrested on Tuesday in Dover and committed to Stevenson House on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering, criminal mischief, second-degree conspiracy, gang participation and theft under $1,500.
Mr. Brittingham, 18, was arrested Tuesday in Raleigh, North Carolina, by the U.S. Marshals. He is being held pending extradition on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering, criminal mischief, second-degree conspiracy, gang participation and theft under $1,500.
