Two burglaries result in Camden arrest

CAMDEN-WYOMING — A 29-year-old Camden-Wyoming man was arrested in alleged connection with two burglaries, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

During May, police said, Troop 3 handled burglary complaints on Fox Hole Road in Camden-Wyoming and Sandy Bend Road in Marydel in which the residences were either vacant or under construction. The suspect proceeded to remove scrap metal, flat bed trailers and tools from the properties, police said.

David D. Smith

Investigation found David D. Smith to be a person of interest. On Wednesday he was taken into custody without incident at his residence in the 3000 block of Westville Road. Charges included: Second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, felony theft (three counts), criminal mischief (two counts) and criminal trespass.

Mr. Smith was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on $9,501 secured bond.
