DOVER — A 66-year-old Delaware dance instructor is scheduled for Superior Court trial Monday regarding allegations that he improperly touched a teenage boy in Dover last year.

Alexander Boitsov, of Hockessin, was arrested after an alleged incident involving a 17-year-old at Dance Conservatory at 522 Otis Drive, Dover Police said. He later pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree unlawful sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police alleged that the dance instructor engaged in sexual contact with the youth inside a locker room after supposedly telling him to undress.

Court documents indicated the alleged offense took place on June 23, 2017 and he was arrested on July 11, 2017 after extradition. The alleged incident was reported to the boys’ parents on June 26, 2017, authorities said. Dover Police said he was taken into custody at the Ellison School of Ballet in New York City.

According to the Associated Press, Mr. Boitsov was subsequently charged by Pennsylvania authorities with sexually abusing a male student at a dance studio in Chester County. He faces a June trial in Pennsylvania on charges of indecent assault and unlawful sexual contact with a minor.

The Delaware case had earlier trial dates of Dec. 4, 2017, Feb. 5, 2018, March 5, 2018 and April 30, 2018 delayed. Court papers indicated a Russian interpreter was needed for the case.

Deputy Attorney General Kathleen A. Dickerson is prosecuting the case, with attorneys Joseph W. Benson and Andrew G. Ahern represtning the defendant. Judge Noel Primos oversaw a final case review on Thursday.
