DOVER — After stopping a man whose vehicle was parked in the middle of the street in the area of Cherry and Lincoln Streets, Dover Police arrested him for possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and drug charges.

The suspect, Christopher Brewer, was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. after noticing a “strong odor of marijuana” coming from his vehicle, authorities said. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a .380 caliber handgun, handgun magazine, cartridges and drug paraphernalia.

Brewer also had two capias for his arrest. Brewer was committed to JTVCC in default of $5,150 secured bond on the following charges.
