TOWNSEND — A 44-year-old Townsend man was arrested for a felony DUI after a single vehicle collision in Townsend. This is Christopher Husfelt’s sixth DUI offense.
At 9 p.m. on Friday night, troopers were called to a single vehicle crash on Dexter Corner Road.
Officers found that a 2014 Jeep Laredo operated by Mr. Husfelt was traveling northbound, exited the roadway and collided with a utility pole, causing the utility pole to break in half, police said.
When officers made contact with Mr. Husfelt, who was standing outside his vehicle, a strong odor of alcohol was detected, police said.
Mr. Husfelt was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He was transported to Troop 9 where he was charged with his sixth DUI, a felony, and failure to obtain a license for new residents.
