• On Saturday, Feb. 6, at 10:15 a.m. at Wilmington’s Brandywine Zoo, “Zoo Kids” from 18 months through six years old can learn about the zoo and its residents through age-appropriate games, crafts, stories, activities and live animal presentations. Pre-registration is recommended.

And just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you can’t meet the animals at the Brandywine Zoo.

• Oh yes, it’s cold – but bundle up and head to the beach! Fort Miles, in Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, was a coastal defense facility during World War II. Visit Battery 519 for an underground bunker tour. It’s never cold there and the whole family can have lots of fun learning about Fort Miles’ important role in Delaware history.
