Six Henlopen teams make DIAA boys' lacrosse tournament

DOVER — Led by fifth-seeded Cape Henlopen High, six Henlopen Conference teams have made the 16-team field for the DIAA boys’ lacrosse state tournament.

Sanford took the top seed in the bracket, which was announced this morning.
The tourney begins with eight first-round games split between Tuesday and Wednesday.

In opening-round contests involving Henlopen teams, No. 16 Dover plays at Sanford at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, while, on Wednesday, No. 9 Smyrna plays at No. 8 Sussex Academy at 7 p.m., No. 12 Wilmington Friends plays at Cape Henlopen at 5 p.m., No. 10 Indian River travels to No. 7 Tower Hill and No. 11 Newark Charter goes to No. 6 Caesar Rodney at 7 p.m.

The quarterfinals are schedule for Saturday.
