Divine Watkins netted seven goals and a pair of assists to pace Dover High to a 21-9 victory over Sussex Tech in Henlopen Conference Northern Division boys’ lacrosse on Wednesday night.

The Senators (2-2 North, 4-2 overall), who led 14-5 at halftime, had lost to the Ravens three years in a row.

Also for Dover, Robby Mason had six goals and two assists and Will Niebrzydowski collected four goals and three assists. Ricky Pitts and Thomas Gill (1 assist) scored twice for the Senators.

Polytech 17, Sussex Central 8: The Panthers won their fourth straight game in the Henlopen North matchup.

At 6-2 overall, Polytech has surpassed its win total for all last season. The Panthers outshot the Golden Knights, 41-18.

John Morris had a team-high four goals for Central.

Caesar Rodney 17, Smyrna 3: Joshua Cosden (1 assist) had six goals with Jacob Copio adding four goals and four assists in the Riders’ Henlopen North victory.

CR led 13-1 at halftime, outshooting the Eagles, 28-14. Jimmy Cava and Jared Wagenhoffer both added two goals and an assist. Tyler Gross made four saves with Joshua Buxton making two.

Milford 18, Delmar 11: Conor Christie collected nine goals and three assists as the Buccaneers (5-1) won their fourth game in a row.

Dallas Rhodes added seven goals and an assist in the Henlopen South contest. Milford, which built an 11-6 lead by halftime, got 22 saves from Shane Gaglione.

Indian River 23, Lake Forest 3: William Josetti tallied eight goals and three assists in the Indians’ Henlopen South win.

George Martin (6 assists), Andrew White (4 assists) and Wyatt Kovatch (3 assists) all added four goals for IR. Samuel Nitz won 12 of 18 faceoffs while Jared Arlett was 6-for-10.

GIRLS, Caesar Rodney 12, Smyrna 11: Lillian Ayers netted six goals and an assist as the Riders won the conference game in overtime.

Kacie Cava (3 goals), Sawyer Walker (2 goals) and Noelle Ruggiero (1 goal) also scored for CR, which got 19 saves from Jasmin Hall.

Juliana Kolakowski (3 goals, 1 assist), Taylor Brittingham (2 goals), Emma Mayhew (2 goals), Madeline Wilber (2 goals), Sierra Duman (1 goal) and Julie Snow all scored for the Eagles with Katelynn Porter stopping 13 shots.

Dover 13, Sussex Tech 10: Mira Prisco and Riley McQuaide netted five goals apiece to lead the Senators to the conference win.

Goalie Britney Miller made nine saves as Dover outshot the Ravens, 36-25. Grace Gast (1 assist) scored twice with Lizzie Ward adding Dover’s other goal.

Indian River 22, St. Thomas More 10: Helen Davis tallied six goals while Lexi Haden had five to pace the Indians.

Delaney Brannon and Kaylee Hall both added three goals each for IR, which led 13-5 at halftime.

Cape Henlopen 17, Sussex Academy 1: Ten different Vikings scored in Cape’s Henlopen Conference victory.

The Vikings outshot the Seahawks, 28-2, and led 10-0 at halftime.

Molly Martiner scored for Sussex Academy with Samara Clark making 11 saves.

Salisbury 14, Indian River 13: Lexi Haden netted five goals while Helen Davis added three to lead the Indians in their nonconference loss on Tuesday.

Baseball

Cape Henlopen 6, Caesar Rodney 0: Austin Elliott pitched a no-hitter, facing the minimum 21 batters, in the Vikings’ Henlopen win.

Elliott struck out 10 and walked only two while also hitting a two-run homer for Cape.

Freshman Ryan Rigby (5 innings) and Kyle Maier combined to pitch a four-hitter for the Riders.

Milford 4, Sussex Central 2: The Buccaneers scored all four runs in the first inning as Chad Reichold (6.2 innings) and Bryce Greenly combined to pitch a five-hitter.

Ethan Hurd hit a two-run triple with William Kimmel contributing two hits and an RBI.

For the Golden Knights, pitcher Jake Brewington struck out seven in five innings and Trevor Collins (1 RBI) had two hits.

Indian River 6, Stephen Decatur 4: The Indians led 5-1 after three innings en route to the victory.

Zion Howard (2 RBI) and Albert Clark had two hits apiece for IR.

Delmar 16, Lake Forest 0: The Wildcats scored 14 runs in the first three innings and finished with 18 hits in the contest.

Delmar’s Isaac Austin hit a grand slam with Christian Murphy (3 doubles, 3 RBI) and Gabriel Rincon both adding three hits. Logan Reed doubled for the Spartans.

Softball

Delmar 8, Lake Forest 7: The Wildcats built a three-run lead before holding off the Spartans in the Henlopen South showdown.

Lake Forest scored twice in the bottom of the seventh but fell short.

Avery Wheatley and Jordan Moore had three hits each for Delmar, which had 12 hits in the contest.

Kerrigan Simpson had four of the Spartans’ 13 hits, with a pair of homeruns and four RBI. Brooke Glanden added two hits and scored three runs.

Sussex Central 8, Milford 6: The Golden Knights scored seven runs in the top of the first before holding off the Buccaneers.

Kaisey Reed homered for Central while Izebella Grebe had a pair of doubles.

Megan Fry, who homered, and Nia Bowe had two hits each for Milford.

Dover 18, Woodbridge 1: The Senators took control with a nine-run first inning and finished with 15 hits in the game.

Mikayla Frantz pitched a five-inning one-hitter and also went 3-for-3. Anye Carter added two doubles.

Girls’ soccer

Dover 4, Seaford 0: Syndi Warman tallied the Senators’ first and fourth goals as Dover picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday night.

Nicole Wilson (1 assist) and Aimee Petit de Mange also scored as all four goals came in the second half.

College baseball

Delaware 10, Pennsylvania 9: The Blue Hen erupted for six runs in the first inning, but needed three more in the seventh to earn the victory.

The Hens (17-14) received three hits from outfielder Calvin Scott while right-hander Cole Benjamin pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory. Four Blue Hens had multiple hits and every starter reached base.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Hens and was their 13th win in the last 15 games at Bob Hannah Stadium.

Towson 7, Delaware State 6: Andrew Cassard doubled in the game-winning run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Tigers the win.

The Hornets (9-18) scored five runs in the seventh to tie the game at 5-5. Ciaran Devenney had two hits, while Jared Gillis (Smyrna) and Devin Beverly drove in two runs each for the Hornets.

Wesley 13, St. Mary’s 4: The Wolverines took control with four runs in the first as they evened their CAC record at 8-8.

Wesley (16-11 overall) had 16 hits in the contest as Trey Mears (3 RBI), Mike Calvarese (3 RBI) and Cody Dmiterchik (1 RBI) all had three hits. Aarn Briggs (4 RBI), Mears, Calvarese and Will Barton all homered.

College lacrosse

WOMEN, Marymount 17, Wesley 2: Paige Brehm scored both of Wesley’s goals in the second half while Shelby Schirmer made eight stops in goal.
