Andrew Unterreiner and Hunter Barr combined to pitch a no-hitter as Smyrna High blanked Lake Forest, 6-0, in Henlopen Conference baseball on Tuesday afternoon.

Unterreiner pitched the first five innings before Barr finished the game for the Eagles, who have won seven of their last nine games.

Nate Ridgeway (2 hits) and Nolan Henderson both drove in a pair of runs for Smyrna. The Eagles took control with four runs in the second.

Lake Forest pitcher Jordan Farlow struck out five in five innings.

Dover 11, Milford 7: The Senators overcame an early two-run deficit with four runs in the third.

Reliever Cameron Turner allowed only one run while pitching the final four innings. Michael Carrington (2-for-2, 4 runs), Avery Tunnell (2-for-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs) and Turner (2-for-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs) paced Dover’s nine-hit attack.

The Buccaneers’ Abraham Mow went 4-for-4 while William Kimmel was 2-for-3 with an RBI triple.

Cape Henlopen 11, Seaford 1: Zack Gelof pitched a six-inning two-hitter and struck out 10 in the Vikings’ conference iwn.

Zach Savage had a pair of hits with three RBI for Cape.

Evan Niblett had both of Seaford’s hits as well as its lone RBI.

Delmar 13, Sussex Tech 6: Leading 6-3, the Wildcats capped off the victory with seven runs in the top of the seventh.

Christian Murphy (3-for-4, 3 RBI) and Jimmy Adkins (2-for-3, 3 RBI) paced Delmar with pitcher Jimmy Adkins giving up only three hits and three earned runs in 6.1 innings.

Sussex Tech’s Anthony Hitchcock was 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Sussex Central 6, Indian River 2: The Golden Knights rallied for all six runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the win.

Trey Toppin tied the game with a two-run homer before Vonnie Toppin added a two-run single. Winning pitcher Kylee Briggs struck out and allowed only four hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Jacob Anderson (1 RBI, 1 run) went 4-for-4 for IR.

Delmarva Christian 7, St. Thomas More 0: Andrew Workman threw a three-hitter to earn the Royals’ shutout.

Michael Briggs, Brandon Schlabach and Wes Hobbs all had two hits for Delmarva Christian, which took had a five-run second inning.

Softball

Sussex Tech 17, Delmar 7: The Ravens were trailing 3-1 when they erupted for 13 runs in the third.

Shannon Lord went 4-for-4 with a pair of homeruns, a double and four RBI. Winning pitcher Brooke Ward (2 hits, 3 RBI), Rylee Shockley (3 RBI) and Kayla Booros (double, 3 RBI) also homered for Sussex Tech.

Madison Watson added three of the Sussex Tech’s 14 hits.

The Wildcats got three hits from Avery Wheatley and two each from Shelby Taylor and Sydney Tyndal.

Del. Military 5, Caesar Rodney 0: The Riders were limited to five hits in the nonconference loss.

The Seahawks broke open a 1-0 game with four runs in the fifth.

Sussex Central 8, Indian River 2: Winning pitcher Hayley McCabe threw a six-hitter as the Golden Knights won their 10th straight.

Kailee Abbott contributed three of Central’s 12 hits while Taylor Evick homered.

Julia Bomhardt and Damian Williams had a pair of hits each for IR.

Cape Henlopen 23, Seaford 0: Jordyn Virden collected four RBI, four runs and a homer to lead the Vikings.

Savannah Reed pitch a five-inning no-hitter with five strikeouts while Ryleigh Elliott (3-for-4, 2 RBI) and Sara Lailler (3 RBI) also pacing Cape.

Delmarva Christian 13, Sts Peter & Paul 2: Freshman pitcher Jayla Culver earned her first win with Camryn Thompson, Malaurie Noble, Morgan Waide and McKenzie Waide all adding two RBI for the Royals.

Girls’ soccer

Caesar Rodney 8, Lake Forest 0: Jessie Prillaman tallied four goals for the Riders, who scored all eight of their goals in the first half.

Macy Ramsey (1 assist) and Megan Rigbsy (2 assists) added two goals each as CR finished with advantages of 18-12 in shots and 5-2 in corner kicks.

The Spartans’ Brooke Tucker made nine saves.

Dover 1, Laurel 0: Ally Manifold’s first-half goal ended up giving the Senators the victory.

Brittney Rosello made a pair of saves for Dover, which finished with edges of 15-6 in shots and 10-2 in corner kicks.

Brianna Jenkins made nine saves for Laurel.

Indian River 5, Smyrna 0: Madison Hogsten netted three goals and an assist to lead the Indians, who needed four second-half goals to put away the victory.

Margaret Ford and Skyler McClure also scored goals for IR, which outshot the Eagles 15-2.

Cassidy Cook made seven saves for Smyrna.

Sussex Tech 5, Milford 1: Kira Short and Alexis Singh netted two goals apiece to pace the Ravens.

Aliyah Browning also scored for Sussex Tech, which got three saves from Valencia Whealton. The Ravens held advantages of 16-5 in shots and 3-1 in corner kicks.

Daphne Leighty scored the Buccaneers’ goal with Hailey Morgan making 10 saves.

Cape Henlopen 9, Seaford 0: Brooke Hollingsworth scored the first three goals of the game before finishing with four goals in the Vikings’ victory.

Lindsey Swontek (1 assist) added two goals with Paige Ludwicki, Paige Balance and Haley Schnupp adding the others.

Seaford goalie Marie Guerrier stopped 18 shots.

Woodbridge 2, Sussex Central 1: Alexis Thomas’ second-half goal snapped a 1-1 tie and lifted the Raiders to the win.

Janae Craft scored in the first half for Woodbridge with Alyssa Burhop making five saves, The Raiders outshot the Golden Knights, 12-5, and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Serina Brooks scored for Central while Baleigh Lambert made 10 saves.

Delmarva Christian 4, Sussex Academy 3: Mara Agapito and Skylar Bennett tallied two goals apiece to lead the Royals.

Claire Marshall made 12 saves for Delmarva Christian, which was outshot 15-13.

Delaney Smith tallied two goals for the Seahawks, Aliyah Patel also had a goal and Kiersten Blatzheim made nine saves.

Lacrosse

GIRLS, Del. Military 14, St. Thomas More 7: The Seahawks jumped out to an 8-3 halftime lead before posting the win.

College baseball

St. Joseph’s 7, Delaware 6: The Blue Hens allowed game-tying homeruns in both the seventh and 10th innings before losing in the 11th.

Calvin Scott hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the fourth for Delaware. He went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored.

Nick Patten went 3-for-5, scoring twice.

Small homers twice for Wildcats: Despite two home runs from Dover High grad Kendall Small, Wilmington University fell to No. 13 West Chester, 9-5.

A sophomore first baseman, Small finished 3-for-4 with three RBI. It was the first two-homer game for the Wildcats since 2014.

College track & field

Wesley’s Brown honored again: Wesley College freshman Jasmine Brown was named the Capital Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday.

Brown collected three top-five finishes at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on Saturday. Brown recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the high jump (1.60 meters, 5-3) and the triple jump (11.26 meters, 36-11.5). Brown also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.26 meters (17-3.25).

College athletics

Wesley golf tourney postponed: Due to severe weather in the forecast for Friday, the 23rd annual Wesley College Football Alumni & Friends Golf Outing has been moved to May 18 at Jonathan’s Landing.

Current players, coaches, alumni and friends will tee off on May 18 at noon with a shotgun start. The outing will use a four-man scramble format. The cost to golf is $125 per person. To sponsor a hole, the cost is $600 and that will include registration for four golfers and a sign on the tee.
