Lake Forest High remained unbeaten in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division with a 55-0 victory over Seaford in football on Friday night.

The Spartans are now 4-0 in the South, 6-2 overall after posting their first shutout of the season.

Lake Forest hosts Indian River next Friday night.

Indian River 21, Delmar 20: The Indians edged the Wildcats to improve to 4-1 in the South, 4-4 overall.

IR has now won four of its last five games after an 0-3 start. Delmar is 1-3, 1-7.

Sussex Central 42, Polytech 7: The Golden Knights rolled past the Panthers in the Henlopen North matchup.

Central is 3-2 in the North, 4-4 overall.

Delaware Military 21, Laurel 7: The Seahawks scored the last two touchdowns of the game to pull away from a 7-7 tie in the second quarter.

Shyheim Holden scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter for the Bulldogs.

Volleyball

Caesar Rodney 3, Concord 1: The Riders won by scores of 25-17, 25-27, 25-14, 25-22.

Leading CR (8-7) were Gabrielle Lord with 11 assists, Chloe Mangubat with 4 kills, 3 blocks, 17 digs and 3 assists, Shivani Modi with 11 kills and 6 digs, and Summer Thomas with 13 digs.

St. Thomas More 3, St. Andrew’s 0: Gillian Crawford had 30 assists and Jessica Crawford added 11 aces to lead the Ravens, who won by scores of 25-5, 25-7, 25-10. Sara Pool finished with 13 kills and Kourtnie Orth had 9 kills.

The Ravens finished the season 11-4, with nine of their match wins coming without dropping a game.

Del. Military Academy 3, Polytech 0: Delaware Military won by scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-23.

Leading Polytech (10-5) were Emily Campbell (2 kills, 11 digs) and Kaylee Williams (2 blocks, 7 digs).

Henlopen title game set: Northern Division champion Smyrna will host Southern Division winner Delmar in the Henlopen Conferencce volleyball championship match.

The match will be held on Monday at 7 p.m.

Field hockey

Hodgson 4, Delmarva Christian 0: Kassi Buckworth scored three goals to lead host Hodgson (6-6-2). Delmarva Christian finished 0-14-1.

Boys’ soccer

Cape to face IR in title game: North winner Cape Henlopen and South champion Indian River will square off in the Henlopen Conference boys’ soccer championship match on Tuesday.

The game will be held at Milford starting at 6 p.m.

College soccer

WOMEN, Delaware State 11, Hampton 0: In the opening round of the Independent Conference Tournament, top-seeded Delaware State (7-9-3) won a convincing 11-0 victory over No. 4 seeded Hampton (0-9).

The Hornets advanced to Sunday’s championship round and tied a program single-season record for most wins (7).

Picking up its first victory since a 2-0 win at Marist on Oct. 16, Friday night’s performance featured DSU setting season-high totals in points (30), assists (8), shots on-goal (24) and corner kicks (15). The Hornets also tied a season-high in goals scored.

In the first half, DSU hung six on the Pirates, beginning with midfielder Elise Pratt finding Taylor Addison (3) during the 14th minute. After an own goal during the 19th minute, midfielder Danielle Valente (3, 4) connected for back-to-back unassisted goals, whereas scores by forward Taylor Love (4) and midfielder Kym Brewton (2) put the Hornets up 6-0 at the break.

College field hockey

St. Mary’s 6, Wesley 1: Wesley saw its season come to an end on Friday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to CAC foe and host St. Mary’s.

The Wolverines were outshot 25-4 as Kayla Fromal added nine saves to her season total. The senior finished her final season with 214 saves and 269 career saves, good for eighth in program history. Her 77.1 percent career save percentage ranks 11th in program history.

After the break, Renee Schneider gave the Wolverines some life with a goal that cut the deficit to three. Her seventh goal of the season also marked the 14th of her career, tying her for 23rd in program history.

The Wolverines finished 4-14 overall. The squad graduates seniors Meghan Groom, Renee Schneider, and Kayla Fromal, but will return a solid nucleus of players.

College volleyball

Coppin 3, Delaware State 1: Delaware State forced a fourth set after falling behind 2-0, but could not complete the comeback in a 3-1 MEAC loss to Coppin State.

The Eagles won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-14, but the Hornets stayed alive with a 26-24 victory in the third set. Coppin State clinched the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.

Jasmine Jackson topped the Hornets with 14 kills and tied for the team lead with nine digs. Delaware State recorded 15 kills and committed just four errors on 27 attacks for a .407 hitting percentage in the third set.

NJCAA Region 19 tourney today at Dover: The NJCAA Division II Region XIX Women’s Volleyball championship is taking place today at Dover High School.

The event is hosted by the Delaware Tech Terry Campus athletics department and Dover High.

The winner of the one-day, single-elimination tournament will advance to the NJCAA District Championship. Participating schools are Delaware Tech, Harcum College, Lackawanna College and County College of Morris.
