Hannah Fox netted two goals and an assist as Lake Forest High blanked Woodbridge, 4-0, in Henlopen South girls’ soccer on Thursday afternoon.

Alexa McCraken and Elle Wood also scored for the Spartans (3-0 overall), who tallied all four goals in the first half.

Brooke Tucker made five saves to earn the shutout.

Cape Henlopen 2, Smyrna 1: Brooke Hollingsworth and Brayden Fannin scored goals three minutes apart as the Vikings rallied for the Henlopen North win.

Fannin tallied the game-winner on a penalty kicker in the 72nd minute. Cape outshot the Eagles, 5-3.

Casey Bell’s goal in the 69th minute gave Smyrna a 1-0 advantage. Cassidy Cook made three saves.

Caesar Rodney 8, Sussex Central 0: Five different players scored for the Riders in the Henlopen North victory.

Jessie Prillaman (3 goals, 1 assist), Laynee Ford (2 goals, 1 assist), Megan Powers (1 goal, 3 assists), Macy Ramsey (1 goal) and Megan Rigsby (1 goal) all led CR. The Riders held advantages of 24-2 in shots and 8-0 in corner kicks.

Stephanie Lane made 10 saves for the Golden Knights.

Indian River 2, Delmar 0: Madison Hogsten netted a goal in each half to lift the Wildcats to the Henlopen South victory.

Fabrea McCray made 11 saves for IR as both teams had 12 shots.

Delmar’s Julia Johnson had seven saves.

Wilmington Christian 1, Delmarva Christian 0: The Warriors’ goal in the second overtime edged the Royals.

Claire Marshall made seven saves for Delmarva Christian, which finished with advantages of 10-8 in shots and 5-4 in corner kicks.

Laurel 3, Sussex Academy 1: Devonna Sheppard scored twice to pace the Bulldogs to the Henlopen South victory.

Emmanuela Charles-Aine added a goal and assist for Laurel.

Sussex Academy, which got 11 saves from Mary Garcia-Barrios, held advantages of 15-11 in shots and 5-2 in corner kicks.

Softball

Polytech 13, Dover 3: Madison Hazen’s three-run double helped spark the Panthers (1-2) to their first win of the season.

Brianna Stevenson had three of Polytech’s 13 hits, winning pitcher Kaite Burawski (2-for-2) drove in two runs and Kelsie Burawski had four RBI.

Kaila Quick homered for the Senators, who scored twice in the top of the first.

Appoquinimink 12, Smyrna 7: Leading 7-3, the Jaguars put away the victory with five runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Kaeyln Press had a homerun and double for the Eagles, who matched Appo with 12 hits in the contest.

Sussex Tech 19, Woodbridge 3: Jakayla Sample had two homers and five RBI in the Ravens’ conference win.

Corrin Farris had three of Sussex Tech’s 20 hits with Kyler Marvel driving in three runs.

The Raiders’ Beverly VanBusKirk had a hit an RBI.

Delmar 15, Mardela 5: Trailing 2-0, the Wildcats scored seven runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good.

Avery Wheatley contributed four of the Wildcats’ 14 hits with Sydney Tyndall adding a homer among her two hits.

Middletown 18, Cape Henlopen 5: Melissa Jones hit a pair of homers and drove in eight runs to power the Cavaliers.

Dickinson 16, St. Thomas More 15: The Rams rallied for 10 runs in the bottom of the seven to pull out the victory.

Kara Scarangella struck out 11 for the Ravens.

Baseball

Cape Henlopen 9, Middletown 0: Winning pitcher Austin Elliott gave up only one hit and struck out seven in five innings for the Vikings.

Elliott also hit a solo homer while Zach Dale added a two-run shot. Jake Gelof finished off the two-hitter with Noah Piper adding two hits.

Devin McClendon had both Cavalier hits.

Sussex Tech 12, Woodbridge 0: Matt Warrington pitched a five-inning four-hitter with eight strikeouts to earn the win for the Ravens.

Sussex Tech had 11 hits, breaking open the contest with seven runs in the fifth.

Troy Haynes had a pair of hits for the Raiders.

Indian River 9, Seaford 1: Ulises Barrientos-Zamora gave up only one hit and one run in five innings as the Indians (1-3) earned their first win.

IR finished with 12 hits, including three from Zion Howard and two each from Mark Smith, Jason Killen and Cole Hitch.

Tyler Hitch had a double for the Blue Jays’ lone hit.

Delmar 7, Mardela 1: Pitcher Hunter VonArx took the victory for the Wildcats, who scored four runs in the first.

BOYS, Indian River 18, Milford 8: The Indians jumped out to a 7-0 first-quarter lead before posting the Henlopen South win.

Salisbury 6, Delmarva Christian 5: Hunter Smith netted all five goals for the Royals in the loss.

Del. Military 9, Sussex Tech 4: Nathaniel Quillen and Daniel Wilson each scored twice in the Ravens’ loss.

GIRLS, Sussex Tech 12, Sussex Academy 11: Morgan Johnson had four goals with Bridget Johnson adding three to pace the Ravens.

Kelsey Smith (1 assist) and Claire Loftus tallied three goals apiece for the Seahawks whil Grace Scott stopped 17 shots.

College softball

Wesley takes two in CAC: Pitcher Lindsay Siok (Milford) picked up two victories as Wesley swept Soouthern Virginia, 5-0, 9-8, in a Capital Athletic Conference twinbill.

Siok, who leads the league with 10 wins, registered her third shutout of the season in thee opener. She faced only two batters over the minimum, struck out six and retired the first 11 batters she faced.

The Wolverines (2-2 CAC, 14-8 overall) stifled a late comeback attempt by Southern Virginia in the nightcap.

Nina Marcano (3 RBI), Ashley Royer, Lauren Hoffman and Megan DiRubbio each had three hits. Siok went 4.2 innings with three strikeouts and only gave up three hits, a walk and an unearned run in the second game.

Hens sweep Coppin: Giovanna Kolofer went a combined 7-for-7 while Anna Steinmetz and Leanna Gearhart each belted three-run homers in the nightcap as Delaware swept Coppin State, 3-2 and 11-3.

The Blue Hens (12-13) have won 10 of their last 11 games, including four in a row. Steinmetz has 22 career homers, one shy of the UD record of 23 held by Michelle Grap from 2008-11.
