The Smyrna High football team remained unbeaten with a 56-36 victory over Howard on Saturday night in Wilmington.

Will Knight led the Eagles in touchdowns. The game pitted the defending Division I champions (Smyrna) against the defending champions from Division II (Howard).

Delmar 21, Lake Forest 14: Jimmy Adkins threw a pair of touchdowns in the Henlopen Conference Southern Division matchup.

Brooks Parker had a rushing touchdown for Delmar. Lake Forest scored on an 81-yard touchdown pass from Xavier Daniels to Cam Lewis.

Boys’ soccer

Milford 3, Laurel 0: Miguel Morales-Lopez, Sametone Corvil and Alexis Torres each scored in the Buccaneer victory.

Volleyball

Sussex Academy 3, Dover 1: All sets were close and Sussex Academy edged out the win 28-26, 25-27, 28-26, 25-20.

Field hockey

Delaware 3, Michigan 1: The No. 9 Blue Hens notched their seventh straight victory Saturday afternoon in the form of a 3-1 verdict over No. 10 Michigan at a rainy Fred P. Rullo Stadium.

Sophomore Greta Nauck led Delaware (11-2) with a goal and an assist while six total Hens contributed to scores.

Nauck collected the first tally of the game in the 10th minute with assists coming from redshirt junior Kayla Devlin and senior Maura Zarkoski off of a successful penalty corner.

Senior Esmée Peet knocked in the game-winner in the 46th minute with a straight on shot inside the circle as the assist came in from junior Taylor Lister.

Fellow senior Meghan Winesett added the insurance goal in the 55th minute off a deflection from Nauck.

Women’s soccer

Southern Virginia 2, Wesley 1: The Knights scored a pair of goals in the second half to deal the Wolverines a Capital Athletic Conference defeat.

Caesar Rodney grad Aleya Cummings scored the lone goal for the Wolverines in the first half.

Men’s soccer

Southern Virginia 1, Wesley 0: After earning a crucial conference win on the road on Wednesday, the Wesley College Men’s Soccer team let one slip on Saturday evening, falling 1-0 at home to Capital Athletic Conferencerival Southern Virginia University.

In a game mired by soggy conditions, the Wolverines never got solid footing, placing just five of their 14 shots on goal. Tanner Yaw made two saves on the day, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Knights out of the net.
